On the eve of an anniversary, Debbie is freezing letters, burning stew, ignoring calls and sculling red wine. Amid the dark whispers she can no longer ignore, she seeks comfort in her children’s laughter, but Debbie’s reality is tragically more horrifying than her illusion.
NGAIRE PIGRAM
Ngaire is an actress, singer / songwriter and dancer and is a graduate of WAAPA’s Cert IV in Theatre.
A Yawuru/Yamatji woman from Broome, WA she has been performing most of her life.
Ngaire played the lead role in several short films including Bec Cole’s ‘Plains Empty’, which was selected for the 2005 Sundance Film Festival.
Ngaire was nominated for a Best Performance award at the 2013 WASA’s for her role in Dot West’s short film ‘In the Air’.
Ngaire played the role of Kaye in the 2011 theatre production of ‘The Sapphires’ – directed by Neil Armfield, which played in London at The Barbican Theatre.
Ngaire was cast as the female lead in the feature film ‘Mad Bastards’ – a 2011 Sundance Film Festival selection.
“Dark Whispers” is Ngaire’s first offering as a Writer & Director – a craft she wishes to explore more in the future.
